Rick has oversight of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering staff to maintain alignment with company objectives and supports HEC sales efforts with machine design criteria and associated cost to build for quoting.
He has been with HEC for over 28 years and has experience in all aspects of our business having started as the Parts and Service Manager, becoming Plant Manager, and advancing to VP of Manufacturing and Engineering. He uses his extensive knowledge of our machines and customer base to support efforts across the entire company.
Rick is an Air Force veteran and has an AAS in Electrical Engineering from Brookdale College in NJ. He has served as chairman of the Eastern North Carolina Safety Council and is currently Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Committee at Elizabeth City State University where he has contributed to their engineering department accreditation and ongoing grant studies.
A problem solver, Rick enjoys talking with our customers, in person, on the phone, or in the virtual meeting arena, to help them understand what HEC can do to enhance their production, fix or install their equipment, or simply talk through customer expectations and visions for their facility.
Outside of work, he embraces the rural lifestyle afforded him by living in Elizabeth City, NC and makes the most of his spare time by being on the water sailing, fishing, kayaking or in the surf at the ocean, or away from home camping and hiking in the mountains.
